Anyone else suffering from this pest? It has a box to click to 'update' but is nothing to do with Oracle. It leads to adware and freeware. Unwanted and potentially dangerous. I get it on this site only, even happened while I was posting this.



Googling it suggests looking for installed adware programs using Control Panel. Tried this but found nothing.



Anyone got any ideas about it?

have a look for a free program on the internet that will cleanse your hard drive of this pesky malware.



And stay off 'hooky' internet sites

Only one is this! Not sure about these programs that promise to remove these pests. Are they not a problem in themselves? May try changing browser.

Do as you wish but it will still be on your hard drive take a look at your 'uninstall program' list on control panel and try to remove it yourself.

Have tried 'uninstall program'-nothing there. Tried using Internet Explorer instead of Chrome and just get a different version of same thing.



Installed MalwareBytes detector which found several 'pups'. Dealt with them and restarted computer.



Logged onto this site and immediately got the same problem. Only this site is producing the problem.

In Chrome top left hand corner three lines click on this in drop down menu go into 'settings' in top right there is a list click extensions and have a look at what extensions are loading when chrome starts it may well show it in there, disable it and put it into the 'dustbin'



if that dont work then sorry cant assist any more.

I am also now getting this Java message ? I am using Google chrome as well. I have no idea what to do ?

Java Plug-ins ?I thought they were Lynx Deoderants, and what are Hooky internet sites ?

Might have finally solved it but not sure yet.



Malwarebytes free scan detected these 'pups' and put them into quarantine (rabies). But the scam still appeared. I deleted them using malwarebytes (thought it said it made no difference) and they [useem [/uto have disappeared,

Are you sure it is a scam. I kept getting it and my computer was telling me that I had the upto date version. It was from Oracle so I just kept on pestering them with complaints. I don't know if I had turned something of that stopped the update being downloaded but it just sorted it's self out. I have to say that I always look out for anything to do with Google Chrome because every time I accidently put the tool bar on my computer it goes barmy. There is definitely a conflict between some ISP's and Google Chrome.

I too am having the same problem as Rugbyballs. It is a pain tbh because my computer knowledge is limited. But I will follow the suggestions.

I am using internet explorer on another computer and its fine.

Has now been reported on the main 'site problems' page.

Happening with Explorer, so not specific to any browser. Obviously something that has infected this site.

Have not had any further problems since the 'cure'.described earlier.
