Good idea in principle, but a red card can be given for a number of reasons. The worst proberley being gouging or stamping, which obviously deserves more than a 2 match ban, compared to getting a 2 match ban for say fighting or high tackle.
I can see the argument for yellow cards, especially considering Keith enior's antics, the other night, but would a 1 match ban for back-chat or persistant offside be worthy of a ban?
Plenty of areas to look at in rl,especially the increase in back-chat to the refs, but dont expect the spineless RFL to do anything about. They've still not commented on the shambles at Celtic Crusaders.
There have been some unjust red cards over the years i remember years ago in a league game against Saints at Wilderspool Kevin Ellis was sent off for a completely accidental trip...
The disciplinary gave a not guilty verdict.....
An automatic 2 match ban in some cases could be harsh...
