I cant believe Ablett has lodged an appeal, just hope the RFL now extend it to 4 games instead of more than likely reducing it to a fine. Anything other than extending to 4 games for appealing will just smack of a weak and ineffective disciplinary panel and procedure and they might aswel do away with it altogether.

Thats my fear, which then makes the disciplinary panel a farce and they may aswel scrap it for what it actually does and level on consistency it gives.

I doubt the RFL will back down on this one....they would look foolish!! Oh wait based on that theory will probably charge Tompkins for raising his head

you know what he is , is a very clever antagonist on the field, and doesnt actually do a lot other than ragging players around by the shirt collars, and he is very good at it!! to be honest there are a ton of players who kick into the tackle with a high leg drive on impact , didnt see too much in that ..

however other things he has done have as you say remained unpunished.



But the Ablett incident was a clear sending off in everyone but the refs eyes... and he was very lucky to stay on the island by a long way, and he got in my opinion a fitting ban of three games...



By all accounts next year the RFL are looking into a new rule that says any bans must be taken against the team it was committed if that makes sense, so if he got a three matcher for argument sake one of those would be offset till the next match against wigan !! not a bad idea

It's a bloody ridiculous idea.



All it would mean is Ablett is missing from the next three Leeds v Wigan games, Wigan would still face 13 Leeds players, only Ablett would be missing. What would happen if he transferred, would his new club then be penalised?



If a player cops a three game ban for an incident in the GF, it could be two seasons until he completes the ban. Justice must be fair but also swift.

Think it means only 1 game against Wigan, the other 2 would be his next 2 games whoever they may be against

So he'd still be free to play until he played Wigan again?

Imo Bailey is one of the dirtiest players I have seen.. he's the type of player that people who don't like RL say "its a game played by thugs" fulfills the stereotype.

Abletts challenge to me could've been avoided and well done to tomkins for shaking it off but this rule change would be ridiculous.

the problem is Ablett lost his appeal, but it cost him £200, he should have had the ban doubled because of a frivolous appeal, that might make cheats like him think twice.
