Please can somebody confirm (or hopefully correct) what one of our friends from east of the river told me last night. He reckons they are the 1st team ever from the city to be top of Super League, even for a few hours. Surely we have been there, but I can't remember when.

We've done it a few times, the last was after the Huddersfield away win this season.

You'd think they'd remember such a momentus ocassion. perhaps we should make a series of avatars and user accouts comemorating the fact.

There are many Rovers fans (and several media pundits) who also overlook the fact that Rovers went top for 24 hours in March 2007 following our home win over Leeds.



Means nowt at this stage of the season.

2001 & 2006 we wen top after first rounds each year , in fact 2001 we held top for round 2 aswell after we mullered Leeds at the Boulevard 38-6

We cant go that far back as we have no history according to you lot......where as you go back 29 years and still getyour socks out over it.

So far it's 3 games more than you but since our promotion to SL we've taken more points than you.

Ironically the game which took us to the summit in 2001 was away to Hudds as well.



1998, after 2 games we were (at that point in time) the only SL club never to have lost a game since the inception of the competition.

I'm quite pleased with it for a team that was never going to get in to SL, never win a game in SL, get relegated from SL, never get a franchise or have to put up with Hull getting 8 easy points

easily pleased then, when you finish in the top six ,knock one out then,

i always remember certain a hull kr fan phoning humberside regulary claiming superleague wouldn't last and rovers were better off in the northern ford!! i wonder what fred heinze thinks now
