Interesting saying we have a 'Leadership team' and 3 of those were on the pitch tonight...

A reward for the awesome form he's been in this year maybe ?

I cant see it being that, last week was his worst performance of the season.

I cant think of any other reason with the likes of Coley Deacon and Tommy playing.

Maybe the captains team made the decision with MM..

Went to Bickershaw labour club for the game tonight and Lockers and Phelps were there. The question was asked as to why he was captain and the answear is pretty simple. He was added to the leadership group a couple of weeks ago as a reward for his form on the pitch and his attitude off it and Maguire thought he deserved his chance to lead the side tonight.

Good call imo and a big well done to Joel Tomkins.

Well given JT wasn't on his best form last week that just goes to show the coach takes a wider view of things than a one off "poor" game for a player who has been consistently good all season which is good to know. I am sure that will have done him good.

I am so pleased JT is doing well because he got some stick as he came up through the ranks but when he did so well deputising for Lockers when Lockers was out half the season I could not fathom what problems people had with him after that. Quite a few people on here thought he would be out of the door. Same with Hansen as many thought he was surplus to requirements as well

JT and Hansen are now getting the recognition that they deserve IMO.

So 1 bad performance should go again st him I don't think so, been saying for weeks and week that Joel has been bossing ppl about in a good way and really does alot of talking behind the sticks when we concede

Only takes one bad performance in the playoffs and we won't be Champions, no matter how many games we have won throughout the season.

What's that got to do with Joel being added to the Leadership Team?

think JT is on par with Sam this year for our best player

I think you're doing Lockers a disservice there.
