Our argument for next time:



Until 2009, Pennington, dominated by its 'huge' Rugby Union club and it's middle class values, was an area simply not being served by Rugby League.



Since that time, the Leigh Centurions have made the area their own. Whilst retaining their traditional support bases of West Leyth, Wigan Road and Glebe Street, the club has managed to pioneer professional Rugby League in a Rugby Union heartland. Pennington now buzzes on match days with eager plastic Pennington 'leythers' wanting their rugby League hit.

Last time i saw the rule book it was next to the goal posts. I think they got moved though.

WE should play it like Widnes did, lick and ask what we need to do to get a license next time, and do it.

There will be a few more in financial mire before the next Laurel & Hardy show. Makes our game a complete laughing stock its time for us fans to unite and get the Woody/Dickie road show thrown out!!

The RFL claim that licensing has been a success is the most incredibly stupid thing to say ever. A product of the scheme was Celtic Crusaders whose plan was accepted by the RFL, above other more reputable cases, and has been a complete and utter failure.



Furthermore, many clubs have failed on the delivery of their submissions - which makes the original assessments a total farce.



The Halifax Chairman is right in his criticisms - Alan Rowley was right with his "hang your head in shame" statement.

Why did Dick(head) Lewis keep looking to his left throughout announcing the teams, was he waiting for the nod of a last minute change of plan by the Crusaders, he looked very nervous. Something was not right there, and why would the owners of a club due to get a handout of a million quid next season pull the plug now, why not pull the plug near the end of season one having spent as little as possible. If nayone who reads this was there, just who or what was Lewis looking at

Or why didn`t the RFL just say the Crusaders do not get a franchise because they do not come up to scratch instead of persuading them to withdraw?

The RFL persuaded them to withdraw? Surely not, the fact they hadn't been signing players...........oh hang on....
