If King is fit he should play, he’s the best centre at the club. Gardner came in and did very well, that’s the role of the academy player.
King is a bang average centre. Obviously the likes of Williams, dufty and Vaughan should automatically come back in no matter how well someone has played in their place, but king is nowhere near that level.
Completely agree. I hope to christ we haven't extended him.
Our future is with the young, enthusiastic pacey, players who are busting a gut to get into the first team. No egos, great attitude, giving their all. Sure we may lose a few games due to their inexperience and learning but we have lost lots of games with the seasoned professionals.
If it was my club I would be concentrating on getting some experience into those young players for better times ahead. But with a coach who has a very short remit (and time is running out for him to prove he has any coaching talent above aura) we will get the usual favourites lined up in a frantic, desperate but ultimately moribund push at the playoffs. The big mistake being relying on those players who have failed throughout the season to somehow turn it around now.
