| What is that dirge the Leeds fans chant over and over with the trumpet accompaniment?
Are they really wee? Is it a song about Rob Burrow?

| Is it important that it mustn't contain consonants? Or is that some sort of dental problem common to West Yorkshire?
O wee are weee
O wee are weee
O wee are wee
O wee are wee
O wee are weeeeee
(Repeat ad infinitum)

Or is it really just some sort of wordless vowels-only chant; some sort of bonding ritual predating language from the early Stone Age?

Well, let's see:
Saints lost by 26
Wigan lost by 30
Leeds now 26 behind with 12 minutes left.
So I reckon focussing on the strange wordless chant of the fans is a lot less bleak than focussing on the fare on the pitch.

That was posted at HT when the game was in the balance with Leeds playing with a scratch team, so the point was very relevant. Leeds may have been well beaten since but at least they put in some passion and application for long periods which was pretty much void from the previous two nights.

| Well most of us Saints fans were deeply unhappy with a performance seeing us lose by 26. You're proud of a performance seeing you lose by more (34 points now). I guess it's about expectations.

| That's rubbish and I think you know it. Leeds at least put in a performance (and I reckon that performance tonight would have beaten any SL side), and with a team full of kids they were up against the best side in the world, who showed some great glimpses of their skill.

You can't compare Fridays game to tonight, bit of a blow out once game was up but at least we had a real go, your lot were truly woeful throughout and it was simply trying to keep the score down from minute one. i would be really worried going forward if i was a Saints fan but us Leeds fans can take a lot more from that first half showing and we will only get better once more and more bodies get fit and our young lads settle.

Leeds did OK for the first 40 minutes, but how much of a part did the weather play? the wind and rain was right into the faces of the cowboys, second half, without it, they showed Leeds up

Just think for a bit about what you just said.
A team got beaten by 26 points, scoring 12 and conceding 38, and that was "woeful throughout".
Another team got beaten by 34 points, scoring just 4 but also conceding 38, and that was having "a real go".
Really ?
I mean, being loyal to your team is one thing, but being hopelessly one-eyed is another. Saints' performance on Friday was dire, and they were thrashed. Leeds' performance tonight was equally as dire, and they were thrashed even more soundly. Wigan's performance was somewhere in between those two dire spots, as they scored as many as Saints, but conceded even more than Leeds and Saints.
Basically what we've seen is that there is a gulf in class between the top NRL sides and the top SL sides. Don't let patronising guff about "brave young lads" from commentators who are desperate to cover over a tragic mismatch fool you.

The scoreline doesn't always tell the full story though does it, its not that cut and dry.We matched Cowboys toe to toe for 40 minutes, level 4-4 at HT against the full 17 they had on duty to win the NRL GF containing the worlds best player to boot in a game that actually meant something to the Aussie team that came here.Contrast that to the players we had out, all our spine missing plus others who would start.
I don't deny they ran away with it in the end which most RL fans expected under the circumstances, but i certainly feel leeds have far more that they can take from the weekend going forward than Saints.Just my opinion.
Your last paragraph is something we both agree on.

The margin might've been 8 more in the Leeds game but if most neutral people were being honest they'd be prouder of the showing and more optimistic heading forward if they followed Leeds than if they did Saints.
