Is it just me, or is it getting ridiculous now.



Im finding it very frustrating, and to be honest boring.

The game has no flow.

It probably hinders saints play more than anyone but im finding it in every game now no matter who is playing.

Nope. The game flows far better than it used to in the 80's and 90's.



What is getting ridiculous is the need to see huge basketball like scorelines and if there isn't 90 odd points scored in a game it must a. be boring and b. need a rule change.

Not if Saints and Leeds have their way.

Its so slow now, all the defences get back have a few seconds breather, then its 5 drives, then a kick down field.

Half backs have no space or time to work any skills so they resort to a short kick to the line or a kick over to a stranded winger.

If you look at all the highlights of the games 70% are the results of kicks and not skilful plays from the backs.

Even the long range trys are the result of short kicks gone wrong and the defense pick up the ball and run the length of the field with no one to beat.

That says more about your team than the opponents laying on.



A quick tap is only achieved if the player lands on his knees and elbows and therefore is quick to get up and play the ball. If your team are not teaching that then there is a problem.

Right, so this therefore increases the need for the 6/7/9 to [ishow some skill[/i. It's what they get paid for.



Funny how it's Saints fans who are complaining..........

There is very little opportunity for half backs to show any skills and No 9 has already been negated at the slow play the ball.

We need fast open rugby to attract supporters to the game not an impersonation of "Rugby Union" without the throw ins.

Ok then. Trawl back through this board and find the main reason that GB/England have struggled against the Aussies for years. You might well be surprised

Don,t go back into the past think of the future. The aussies have cleaned up the play the ball area there game is more open and quicker. There backs are reaping the benefits, the matches are higher scoring.



While we resort to slow, pedantic, sterile plays.



Come end of the year we are going to get murdered by the aussies.

That'd be a quick play the ball, not a quick tap.
