| Quote Erik the not red="Erik the not red"So to summarise, you haven't been there, don't have any contact with anyone who is or has been there but you are an expert on the place.
'"
Nope, I've not been but a few of my mates work there as security contractors and earn good money doing do. I've never claimed to be an expert, but there's a good reason my mates earn NZ$45K a month guarding foreign workers and visiting teams. Ex special forces from the UK, NZ and Australia are paid insane amounts of money to ensure the safety of visitors.
Quote Erik the not red="Erik the not red"The only relevant facts are that last year's World Cup teams, every Queensland Cup team and the NRL Presidents XIII annual visit have gone ahead untroubled. Liveability has knack all to do with it - it can be a great place for a team to visit. After all closer to home I quite enjoy visits to London but would hate to live there. Your "facts" however have little or nothing to do with visiting sports teams who are hardly going to be banished to a dodgy squatter settlement or a remote village.'"
This is the reality of what it is like for foreign workers in PNG......
Quote Erik the not redThey spent their days on the work site and at night they slept in a large company house, which was under 24-hour guard by security officers and surrounded by razor wire — a pretty standard arrangement for foreign workers in the crime-ridden city.'"

So what's the issue then? They'll be guarded and pretty bloody safe it appears!
I'm not going to pretend PNG is anything but a dangerous place to live though. I agree there. However, there will obviously be safeguards in place so it's not an issue. If anyone actually has the most to travel to watch them, in pretty sure they'll be able to find a safe place to stay also.

| Quote Call Me God="Call Me God"Now I know it's grim up north, '"
Resorting to being a child "Statto" your claims are as ficticious as the man in your Avatar, you stated PNG as a country and now you are switching your argument to a specific City Port Moresby.
Nobody is denying it is or could be a bad place it's just not on a top ten list of Countries not to visit EVER.
however, the vast majority of visitors who exercise common sense and apply appropriate security measures move around the city safely and conduct business without significant issue
Forgive me but I'll take the word of the Foreign Office over yourself regarding COUNTRIES not to visit
[iForeign Office advises against travel to
Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Palestinian territories, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, Yemen[/i

About 6 yrs ago we went on a cruise down the Nile in Egypt and when we stopped in the middle to go on a trip across the country we had to have a police escort but that was not on the list of places not to go so we’re is the problem
