Indeed, they are terrible for the sport. They need a female lead, ideally one with a spark about her, a personality. Then an unbiased commentator who isn't affiliated to a certain region or club. Personally I'd break the bank to get Voss for a year. Keep Clarke away, we don't need him masturbating over Sammy boy next year.

Don,t watch the Sky broadcast so much only occasionally on a thursday night game, watched Wigan v Warrington. There was only one thursday night game but Eddie + Stevo gave me the impression they were commentating on 2 games, didn't realise they had gone to such a load of waffle.

The only thing gutting about losing those 2 clowns is the fact it will come about 20 years too late. I'm cancelling my sky sports sub at the end of the season anyway as I refuse to pay the vast amounts of money demanded to facilitate the obscene amount of money they pay wendy ball. Least I wont have to listen to them in the pub

When you compare them to the Premier League commentators and analysers, they are amatuerish. You would never get the level of mistakes with regards to names of players, actions occurring etc during one of the Sky PL games, so I don't know why we are expected to put up with it watching the rugby.

Football's presentation is top class atm. They now have well respected recently retired players providing the analysis.

Basic requirement for a commentator....know the rules of the game. Too many games are ruined by long debates about whether a knock on was a knock on or not. The fact they had to bring in an "expert" to interpret the rules says it all about the level of expertise of the commentary panel.



Even in golf, where the rules are notoriously complex, the TV coverage doesn't bother with an in-house rules expert to explain every aspect.

IF it's true I imagine carney will take over Eddie. It looks like he's been groomed for his job.

Carney is by far and away the best presenter in the whole set up, and would be perfect to step into the Eddie role.



Not sure who is out there from recently retired players, or that will be finishing at the end of this season that could be the new Stevo. Defo not any of the rest of the crew - in fact, a couple of them could do with getting binned off as well and get a load of new faces in, like Sky did with the football.

Being a main commentator is a specialist job. They'll get a new one in when Eddie does pack it in, neither of the replacements, Arthur or Studd, are good enough. If they were grooming Carney for that role, he'd be doing it this year and he isn't.

I agree, but i was under the impression that they were only leaving at the end of the 2016 season.



When the time comes I would Sky to bring in Andrew Voss over to take over as the main man.
