Not at all. Francis Meli returning the ball tonight was fantastic! He made huge strides into Leeds defence. When he made the mistake i thourght his head would drop. Instead he carried on his form from the last 10 weeks (being our best attacking player imo). He is a powerhouse who we do not use to his strengths. Vainikolo was awfull at dealing with kicks.



At the end of the day, WE lost this game. Silly errors cost us the game (not only Brain farts by Meli but the holding down we did on Leeds when they was in there own 20 and struggling!).



Im amazed how many people stick up for Ade Gardner! He is a complete Joke! P*ss off Gardner.

I think Gardner plays well when the team are playing well. When we're struggling he's exposed, both for Saints in recent years and horrendously in Great Britain/England shirt.

and melli made the equivalent in psyudo psycho meters cause he could not run in field for any other reason

Any decent winger wouild have walked in for that chance in the first half.Oh for Albert or Sully instead of bloody Gardener.

Absolute nail on the head. Without the individual errors from the wingers, we would have won, no matter how anyone tries to pad it out.

Well, we certainly would have had a good chance of winning. Our wingers made the biggest possible blunders on the very night they should have been performing at their best. It was like deja vu all over again. How can Meli have played so well for the last couple of months only to gift a try to Leeds in the bloody Grand Final? And what the feck has happened to Gardner this year? He really should be dropped.



As should Leon Pryce.



And Bryn Hargreaves.



And probably half the team, while I'm at it!!

Gardner and Meli are the Laurel and Hardy of rugby league.



When a winger gets the ball, the opposition fans should feel a flutter of fear at the prospect. When the ball goes near Gardner or Meli, the Saints fans brick themselves.



Rewind that game and what you see is that our weak players lost that game - Meli and Gardner for their cock-ups and Hargreaves for his lack of awareness at the PTB. You can make a case that Pryce/Wilkin/Roby etc didn't show up, but you can also make a case that they and their Leeds opposite numbers cancelled each other out. Meli, Gardner and Hargreaves looked second rate, and cost us the game.

Bad mistake from Meli tonight but the rest of his play was again superb.

The truth is we have been arrogant enough to believe it doesn't matter if our wingers can't catch a ball, it doesn't matter if we have no kicking game - we are good enough to win without them.



I'm flabbergasted that a professional team can have such wanton disregard for crucial aspects of the game. Worst of all - it's been going on for YEARS. What next - play with 12 men (although if it meant axing Meli we might be better off)?



Chairman - take control.

I feel sorry for Meli. Apart from those two brain explosions his performances this season have been wonderful.



Gardner on the other hand has had a truly shocking season.
