I have to say though that to be averaging the third highest attendance when our town is so much smaller than Leeds' Warrington, Bradford, Wigan Hull etc is pretty good in my book.



We can't magic a crowd out of thin air.

the achievement imo comes from the fact our attendances are up on recent seasons and finally starting to get to an acceptable figure

Because Wigan's borough is twice the size of St Helens so do your maths

just proves how fickle you lot are!!

We also compete against a Premiership Football club and an NL1 club where as you have none.



Don't let that get in the way of ''Our attendances are nearly as good as Wigans'' celebration.

Am I the only one that thinks this has a lot to do with how little we've been on the box this year?



In the previous 2 seasons we were on almost every week but this year hardly at all. This must surely have an effect, after all we did use it as an excuse when our crowds were going down.



Is anyone sad/bored enough to know how many times we've been on compared to previous years?

If we had a proper stadium like you boys it would be an "our attendances are much better than Wigan" celebration

Absolutely not - people get into the routine of attending because we're not on telly every weekend.

I think that will have helped as people haven't had the option to watch at home/in the pub in the same way as they have in recent seasons when it has seemed we have been on sky most weeks.



I also think the offer for the Junior season tickets, and the offers that are often on for match day tickets offering more money off will probably have encouraged more people too.

Warrington's and Hull's attendances improved by 50% with their new stadia, a similar improvement for us would see us not far off capacity at the new ground which is both pleasing and worrying on its size.
