Surley if leeds are true to their word Daryll Powell who took a sideways move to accomadate Tony Smith and was promised he would be reinstated as first team coach when Smith leaves should be reinstated, and infact built the team that Tony Smith inherited.

Where were you two years ago when that plan was kyboshed?

If it's true then I wonder if Hanley is going for it so he can maybe become the GB coach once Smith goes?

Saints were in a bit of a mess by the time Hanley left. He did nowt at Cas.



He'll be even more aloof with his players than Smith.

The new coach is English,but its not Hanley and its not McDermott

hmm Were they?



He left them as champions, with a ready made team for millward to win it again.

I remember Hanley getting suspended by Saints and then returning just in time to beat us at Headingley, which backs up the theory that he was very much his own man. I also remember him trying to get rid of Cunningham in favour of the hookr at Leigh, Rowley?. That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Can't remember him leaving them in a mess though.



I'll discount his time at Cas, as he wasn't even the coach there.



Overall, I don't believe it for one second, but it sure would be interesting.

Rampant ego aside, Hanley would certainly make for interesting times at Leeds. He's probably the only British coach who would command respect from all the players before he started. Whether he's actually much cop as a coach is another matter entirely.



In any event it would be great to have him in SL in a high profile capacity, whether at Leeds or anywhere else.
